Mirvac Christmas Show

Mirvac hosts a Christmas Show for its residents at Burswood and I get to photograph it and enjoy the entertainment. LA Gold were the rock and roll band. They were fantastic and kept three couples from Cool Cats Rock 'n'Roll going for over an hour.

Frances has a cool act - she plays a very good Fairy. She bestowed fairy dust upon numerous children and grownups alike. Isn't she wonderful?

Perth Domestic Airport has just had its departure area upgraded by John Holland. I photographed the opening media event and here are a few shots that I am able to publish. Lisa Scaffidi, our Lord Mayor was there along with many ministers and Qantas WA regional manager, Ian Gay.

This is me - taken by my husband, John, who thinks he is a bit of a photographer!!! :) I had to stand there for about ten minutes for him to get THE shot! Our kids used to complain bitterly when they were little about how long it took him to take pictures. Woops, I'll be in trouble now.

We went to the EveMarilyn photography exhibition at the Perth Concert Hall last weekend. I do admire Eve Arnold's work. Try and see it if you can - it finishes on the 20th December.
BTW, is anyone out there feeding my fish? They were awfully hungry today! (Left mouse click and food particles appear!)

Perth has to be the most beautiful place to live. Christmas in the sunshine!!! I snapped these shots from my car yesterday driving downtown - the decs just up. I will put up some better Xmas shots soon - promise!

Oh boy - did I have fun with Romy and Bram. Two gorgeous children. We got some great shots even though they had just woken up from an afternoon nap to be confronted by a strange woman weilding a huge camera. They deserved the chocolate I brought for them! Thank you dear Romy and Bram for allowing me to photograph you that day.

Lifeline WA Report to the People 2009

His Excellency Dr Ken Michael, AC, Governor of Western Australia was in attendance as Lifeline WA's patron. It was an informative occasion where many of the audience had been associated in some way with suicide, either they had lost a family member or a partner or were TCs (telephone counsellors). It is such a worthwhile charity to support. If you feel you'd like to find out more about helping them do give them a call on 9261 4444.

Here are some very good friends of mine Trish Keenan, Kathy Franklyn - whose husband is Chairman of Lifeline WA and Peter Keenan.

Another friend, Shirley Eldridge, here in the pink is showing her soon to be released book, "24/7", to His Excellency Dr Ken Michael and his wife. A little plug for me here - I did the photography for the cover and also Shirley's image on the back cover. Yay! I hope the book does really well.

This is Amanda Wheeler who is Lifeline WA's CEO. She is a very special person and enormously compassionate.

I felt very honoured to have been present to photograph this event.

Ikea here I come!

I photographed three darling children with heart problems for a charity called HEARTKIDS WA a couple of months ago. I was working with a great PR company called GT Media who needed some fun images to put on invitations and publicity shots for the HEARTKIDS WA annual ball in March. We had a ball with these three children and I think everyone enjoyed the shoot. The 'title' of the ball is HEART TO HEART so, (together with my husband, John Harman,a great ideas man) we came up with the idea of having three children linked together in some way by a big number two and a cut out heart shape. Now you're wondering where IKEA comes in aren't you! GT Media have agreed with IKEA that the shot of the three children will be used in store for promotion - so I am very happy to see my image out there. Here are little shots of the three stars of the shoot - they did so well and none of them are really well.

We've just had a wonderful holiday in Beijing and Hong Kong. Jonathan, my son lives in Beijing and was happy to show us around. Jono is fluent in Mandarin which is an enormous help. Images to follow.

Happy Birthday to my eldest son, Jonathan. He is thirty something today!!! Here's a party shot of my sons - Oliver and Jonathan. Jono is on the right. We'll be visiting him soon in Beijing - yay! Has anyone fed my fish lately? Scroll to bottom of blog.
Yesterday was really cold and windy but Andrea and Dillon were real troopers dodging in and out of heavy showers so I could get a few shots of them for their signing picture at the wedding. These are my favourite three... I like the first one best... but what do you think?

Style Palace's new Princess Photoshoot

I was lucky to be a part of this exciting day as the background photographer. The public was able to go behind the scenes and view the photo shoot for the new 2010 Princess, Chloe Rose Ball, through the glass foyer of the Perth Town Hall. They could watch hair and make-up artists at work, enjoy the special lighting effects created by SP's stylists, hear the click of cameras of Australia's internationally renowned photographer and see the beautiful models lounging around during the day in the latest spring/summer designs from Style Palace - Australia's hottest online boutique

Fashion TV was there documenting the fun and Lisa Scaffidi, The Lord Mayor of Perth dropped by.

Peter and Darlene Gianoli, the creators of Style Palace with Palace Pooch - Romeo - were actively involved in the shoot.

BoHo Nights at Little Chutneys

Cocktails flowed and stunning fashions were on display when Style Palace hosted Boho Nights at Little Chutney's as part of the 2009 Perth Fashion Festival. The textured, luxurious backdrop of Little Chutney's in Subiaco provided the perfect environment for guests to sit back and relax as models featured collections from Joveeba, Hussy, Flamingo Sands and Camilla. Two caftans auctioned raised more than $1200 for Wishes of the West. I had a ball photographing the gorgeous models of course!

Blast from the Past

I love to keep up with old friends and one of my very best and oldest (not very) school friends, is Jean. She and her husband Mike, have recently bought a lovely big holiday home in the Gower. Wedding in Perth

I recently photographed a gorgeous couple on their wedding day. Just look at the beautiful mother watching her daughter walk down the aisle! I took more than a thousand images but will only post a handful. The bridesmaids were so darling too.

It got so dark - we had to use the dreaded flash!

Oliver, my son, and his new wife, Becca and I took the Eurostar to Paris from St Pancras, the most romantic place to meet and dine with friends. We did all the sight-seeing spots including the Eiffel Tower of course... and Montmartre. What fun we had!
